Side Effects of Xenical

All drugs have side effects, and Xenical is no exception. Side effects in general are not serious and include:

  • oily spotting
  • wind with an oily follow through
  • an urgent need to poo
  • loose poo
  • poo containing oil or fat
  • an increased number of bowel movements
  • difficulty controlling bowel movements and / or anal incontinence
  • pain in the bottom
  • tummy pain
  • irregular periods
  • anxiety
  • headaches

There are some serious side effects to taking Xenical. These occur rarely, but if you experience any of the following side effects, or any other side effects that you would attribute to taking Xenical, stop taking Xenical straight away and inform your doctor. Serious side effects include:

  • Rash
  • Hives
  • Difficulties breathing and / or swallowing
  • Excessive itching
  • Severe or non remitting abdominal pain
